The Sunless Citadel

1491 DR in the month of Flamerule (Summertide)

Asher, Adelar Vogel, Granock Flare, Dravull, Kelran Loreweaver, Treshtog

Having gathered their composure through a well deserved short rest the party where lead to the outskirts of the Kobold tunnels by Meepo. Chambers full of broken masonry, rat scat, and mysterious statues where abound. Dravull read a Draconian inscription aloud triggering a poison fog trap. "Let there be Death". Kelran Loreweaver and Gronak Flare bore the brunt of the assult but with the application of healing tonic they where able to return to their feet.

Leading the charge the Paladin Flare and Dravull cut through the goblin sentries stationed at the outposts of the territory. The rest of the party quickly followed the attack and cut down every fleeing warrior before they could relay warning through the rest of the warren. Kobold captives where found alongside a strange surface gnome named, Erky Timbers. Freeing the captives the party received a pick pocketed whistle made of jet from one of the Kobolds. Erky Timbers was captured while trying to find his fortune on the high road through trade. He survived a month of captivity without food through the blessings bestowed upon him by Pelor. Indebted to the party Timbers lead them to deeper chambers he had been through while in captivity.

Searching through more forgotten chambers the party came upon a trophy room decorated with mounted heads. Few of the heads would constitute a worthy trophy by surface standards and the state of the room even less. Frost clung to the air as the party pushed aside broken furniture and discovered a white dragon wrymling. Cycrx the Kobold clans future god was being held captive here before she broke free and gathered everything of value in one corner.

Meepo rejoiced over the discovery of his charge ran forward looking for a hug whilst the dragon lunged at him tearing at his throat. The party quickly dragged him out of the room and gave him medical attention. Dravull the white dragon born parlayed with the beast convincing it to stay in its corner. Little to the partyies knowledge Dravull despised dragons and used his scroll of inflict wounds to render it near unconscious. Asher having the sense that this ones pain should not be ended so quickly cast his own inflict wounds in order to render the dragon fully unconcious.

Meepo was charged with taking the small dragon back to his clan while the party pressed on determined to find the Hurcele siblings and their lost party. Timbers warned the party they would soon be approaching "Goblin Town", a massive chamber housing all the non combatants and the Hobgoblin Kings personal guard. Thinking fast Kelran Loreweaver ducked into a passage to use their secret changeling ability of shape shifting. Pushing into the Goblin village disguised as a lanky Goblin Kelran was able to scout out sleeping chambers and those of the Hobgoblin king. It was in returning to the party that Kelran realized their inability to speak goblin. Appropriate usages of rude gestures and violence got them through undiscovered.

Sneaking through back tunnels the party breached the King Durhns personal chambers and assaulted his hobgoblin gaurd. The Goblin cleric aiding Durhn was quickly dispatched with hand axes and magic. Bloody fighting took place over a vine covered pit and when King Durhn was the last goblin standing he surrendered to the party. He offered the party information saying that the Hurcrele where given to Belak the Druid for experimentation. Having no other useful information Durhn asked to be released or be given a warriors death. With much deliberation the party freed him under the condition that he left without rousing the other goblins.

The party was left peering into the pit of vines wondering if they would ever find the twins, sir braford the holy warrior, Shatter Spike the sword, and Belak the Druid.

Total Rewards: 565 gold split into shares of 94 gold, Night Caller Whistle, Talgen's Signet Ring, and Goblin Keys.

The Sunless Citadel

1491 DR in the month of Flamerule (Summertide)

The humble village of Oakhurst was the Slayers destination, having been spurred on by news of a former Slayer in need of help. Kerry Hucrele a well to do merchant and former Slayer called apon the service of Garret's company in order to find her missing children. Sharwyn and her twin brother Talgen traveled with the holy warrior Sir Braford and the esteemed ranger Karakas to the ancient dungeon known as the, "Sunless Citadel". A reward of 150 gold pieces was offered to each player if they recovered one or both signet rings. In total the Slayers could walk away with a tidy 300 gold each alongside rumored treasures such as the mystical sword Shatterspike supposedly carried by Sir Brayford. Fearing that her children may already be dead the Merchant Hurcrele will accept the signet rings though the reward may be doubled if the Slayers can find the adventurers alive.

Spurred on by the desire to reunite a mother with her children and the promise of healthy compensation the Slayers trudged onwards to the plains of desolation. The land north of the village was laid to waste by the dragon Ashardalon only a generation ago. While the great red wyrm is long dead his power is still felt in the scorched craggy soil that holds few plants or animals anymore.

A few broken columns poked through the desolate plains one of them having a frayed but fresh piece of rope attached to it. Sliding down the Slayers entered the ancient citadel to find the first layer of stairs, to what must once been a tower before the fettled castle fell bellow the earth infested with giant rats fed by the occasional beast or individual foolish enough to fall down the canyon. Treshtog the Rat Smasher made quick work of the rodents alongside the excellent blade work of master samurai Dravull. The fight was not without its difficulties as the rats made savage attacks against the newest Slayer, Asher the Aarakocra Cleric.

Dispatching the rats the Slayers made their way to the main interior of the sunken citadel to find it a trap filled hall. Pit falls abounded alongside arrow traps and a set of ancient globes emitting enchanting music that made any who heard it desire to throw themselves down a near bottomless pit.

The Slayers followed the sound of whimpering to find a kobold named Meepo wallowing in his shame. The wretch begged for death but was convinced to tell the part his story and in doing so revealed the power struggle between a clan of Kobolds and a tribe of Goblins living in the citadel. The Kobolds where raising a white wyrmling to one day become their liege when the goblins from the other side of the citadel stole the small dragon right from under their noses.

Convinced the Slayers may be able to help Meepo lead the party to his queen Yudrasyl the kobold. A throne room of ancient broken dragon statues served as the clans home and place of worship. Yudrasyl offered the slayers a magic item to aid them on the quest promising the Slayers safe passage through the kobold controlled tunnels if they returned the white dragon wrymling Crycrix to them. Dravull the voice of the party choose a vial of healing elixer and was tasked with following Meepo into the goblin controlled tunnels. Noting a key in the mouth of a dragon statue the party bartered for it and settled on the price of 30 gold pieces. Returning to a previously explored chamber the part used the key to open a door and having survived  the traps they reached the crypt of the dragon priest.

Lifting a sarcophagus lid the Slayers where beset by an ancient dragon priest polymorphed into a troll for his failings. Though shriviled and weak the troll proved a deadly foe and only with great feats of heroics where the Slayers able to bring the beast down. Treshtog with his mighty maul sweep its legs out from under it before slamming it down on its head. The Troll Tenderizer joined the party in burning the corpse after properly looting it. Taking a rest the part prepared to enter the goblin tunnels and bring back the dragon hatchling, the Hurcrele twins, and the mystic weapon Shatterspike.

Total Rewards: 272 gold split into shares of 45 gold each, Elixir of Health , Scroll of Command, Scroll of Cure Wounds (2nd Level), Scroll of  Inflict Wounds (2nd Level), and  Scroll of Guiding Bolt

Dues for the Dead

1491 DR in the month of Kythorn (The Flowering)

Wesley Dogwood, Adelar Vogel, Cuan Maor, Dravull, Lorringar, Treshtog

The Sword Coast Slayers found themselves outside the city of Phlan. The scouting chariot Thunder returned with a message found upon a tree outside the town. "Wanted: Holy Knights, Blessed Warriors of the Gods, and other bold slayers of the Undead. Contact Doomguide Yuri Glandon in the Valhingen Graveyard for more information."

With this grim quest having been revealed to them the Slayers set out to meet with Doomguide Yuri. The party soon learned more about the Doomguides and their role as priests worshiping the Judge of the Damned Kelemvor. Doomguide Yuri is trusted with the wellbeing of those put to rest in the Velhingen Graveyard. He express to the slayers his fear that the dead had begun to walk again following the disappearance of three priests of Kelemvor. He offered the Slayers the chance to prove their devotion to the cause of life with the reward of 100 gold pieces and a pair of Goggles of Night.

The Doomguide provided the Slayers a guide in the form of a young rather strange acolyte named Cassyt. Her fascination with death and teenage humor did much to endear her to the party and into the depths they delved to put the dead back to rest.

It was soon realized through their tour of the vaults of dead that Valhingen was built upon generations of similar graveyards. Museum quality displays of long dead nobles posed in life like dioramas would look normal if not for the fact they where skeletons. It was in the even older sections like that of the Bone Pit that the Slayers found the dead did in fact walk as in life. Treshtog made a good show of destroying undead with his maul earning the name, "Carpenter of the Dead." As per the act of hammering the ghouls as if nails in wood. Deeper the party went both disturbed by the various ancient burial practices more akin to making jerky then preserving bodies and the dead who wandered freely.

Undead where heard beating down the door inside the sunroom, a place normally reserved for the staking and burning of vampires by the Doomguides. Dravull the Samurai and the rest of the party sliced their way through eventually finding a trio of thieves consisting of a sassy tiefling, mute elf, and drunken half-orc. Wishing to avoid bloodshed the party convinced the three stooges to drop their stolen items and escape via rope. It was surmised that they where possibly sent by a guild to investigate the undead rumors. The party moved on through rooms with ceilings full of skeletons, skeletons posed murdering each other, and even a three fourths scale city of the dead.

The necromancer was soon found with a cadre of kobolds, zombies, and even a Thayan Knight in their employee. Thinking fast Wesley Dogwood put the wizard to sleep while Cuan and the rest took care of the knight. An epic fight ensued involving a life and death wrestling contest with the knight, well placed magic stones, and even sacred flames from the now furious Cassyt.

The necromancer was lead back to the surface in chains with one of Cassyt's socks in his mouth. Doomguide Yuri thanked the Slayers for their help and made good on his promise giving the hundred gold to the party as a whole and bestowing the goggles of night upon Wesley Dogwood. Cassyt was offered a position in the Most Solem Order of the Silent Shroud but she politely declined instead taking her savings and investing it in a new venture, "The Widow's Wake Funerary Services." She now provides the caravan with a place to create legal documents like Wills and provides various forms of funerary services.

Total Rewards: 250 gold split into 40 gold per, Goggles of Night (Wesley), Greatsword (Treshtog), Battle Damaged Plate Armor (Adelar).
